Smiljana Ramanović, noted scientific-research work related to multiple sclerosis

"I want to be engaged in scientific work, clinical medicine..."

I am Smiljana Ramanović and I am a student of the 4th year at the Faculty of Medicine in Nis. During all these years of studying I have been supported by OSF because I have been a scholar of the RHSP program for the previous 6 years, which was designed as a support to students of medical and related sciences.

This kind of support has been very important for my family and me in terms of finances because although my tuition is financed from the budget of the Republic of Serbia, I still have to pay for accommodation and food from the family budget, as well as for textbooks and professional literature, which requires a lot of money. This scholarship has enabled me to buy all the books I needed and it has also enabled me to attend classes properly, without any psychological pressure that I might lack money for anything, which is very important while being a student.

Additional components of the RHSP program such as mentorship, advocacy and such, have enabled me to develop and improve my informal education, to meet new people and create a network of acquaintances and friends.
