Training "Successful presentation to the media"

Within the framework of the Communication component in March and April 2015 were organized two-day training entitled "Successful presentation to the media" for Roma students in medical colleges and universities included in the scholarship program.
These trainings aimed to create communication skills of Roma students and to prepare them for active participation in the process of improving the public image of the academic potential of young Roma in Bulgaria.
During the trainings mechanisms of functioning of the media and specifics of the various media (print and electronic, national and local dailies and weeklies) and different audiences were discussed. For the participants it was useful to learn how to be attractive to the media, what are the secrets of successful media presentation, how to create successful and lasting contacts with journalists and how to develop skills for good personal presentation during participation in transmission and giving interview. Special attention was paid to the participation in the TV show and giving a television interview - live and recorded.
With a particular interest of the participants passed the discussion over what people talk about Roma in the news, the theme of tolerance and the media - in the light of recent media cases, stories that destroy stereotypes on the Internet, positive and negative examples of the presence of Roma in the media, how to present on media issues affecting the Roma community.
Emphasis in the program of both training was placed on the role of social networks - Facebook, Twitter, linkdin and the question who I am on the Internet, how I present myself, in what blogs, friendship groups I choose to join, how I manage my online communicating, what is my image on Facebook. The issue of the Roma community in Facebook was discussed, if it is a personal or public space ,is hate speech in cyberspace and how to oppose him.
Practical aspect of the training was strengthened. Theoretical training for the behavior in front of a camera was accompanied by real conducting simulation of a TV interview between the participants at video camera, record video cards, followed by an analysis of the weaknesses and winning strategies of behavior in front of the camera.
