On 24 November, the final meeting of mentors and students was organized within the mentoring component of the Roma Health Scholarship Program in the Dean's Office of the School of Medicine in Belgrade. The project Mentoring Support to Roma Scholarship Beneficiaries who study for medical careers was conducted by the Centre – the School of Public Health and Health Management of the School of Medicine and represents an integral part of the RHSP Program (supported by the Fund for an Open Society and Roma Education Fund).
During the academic 2015/2016 year, the program involved 18 Roma students from three university centres (Novi Sad, Belgrade and Niš) who worked with 12 mentors (professors, assistant professors and assistants at the faculties of medicine).
Both scholars and mentors enlightened from their points of view their joint perennial work and results, academic and professional achievements, as well as their personal relationships which developed in time. The mentors were awarded the diplomas for participation in the project.
The Roma scholarship beneficiaries particularly emphasized their social engagements as well as their plans for future careers.
